When reversal flanks the spine and aches, reaching the crown, the head heavy and sinking, the eyes flashing, the waist and spine stiff — take the blood collaterals of foot taiyang in the hollow of the knee. When reversal fills the chest and the face swells, the lips wet and slack, speech suddenly hard, and in the extreme one cannot speak — take foot yangming. When reversing qi runs to the throat and one cannot speak, the hands and feet cold, the stool not moving freely — take foot shaoyin. When there is reversal and the abdomen rumbles, much cold qi, the belly gurgling, stool and urine hard to pass — take foot taiyin. The throat dry, heat in the mouth like glue — take foot shaoyin. Pain in the knee — take calf-nose, with a round-keen needle; send it and space it; the needle as large as a yak-hair; needle the knee without doubt. Throat impediment, unable to speak — take foot yangming. Able to speak — take hand yangming. Intermittent heat without thirst, arising every other day — take foot yangming. Thirst, arising each day — take hand yangming. Toothache that does not hate cold drink — take foot yangming. That hates cold drink — take hand yangming. Deafness without pain — take foot shaoyang. Deafness with pain — take hand yangming. Nosebleed that will not stop, clotted blood flowing — take foot taiyang. Clotted blood — take hand taiyang; if it does not end, needle below the curved bone; if it does not end, needle the hollow of the knee and let blood. Lumbar pain, cold above the pain — take foot taiyang and yangming. Heat above the pain — take foot jueyin. Unable to bow or look up — take foot shaoyang. Heat in the center and panting — take the blood collaterals of foot shaoyin in the hollow of the knee. Given to anger and without desire for food, speech growing smaller — needle foot taiyin. Anger and much speech — needle foot shaoyang. Pain in the cheek — needle hand yangming and the abundant vessel of the cheek, and let blood. Nape pain, unable to bow or look up — needle foot taiyang. Unable to turn the head — needle hand taiyang. The lower abdomen full and large, rising to the stomach, reaching the heart, the body dripping at times with cold and heat, urine not moving freely — take foot jueyin. The abdomen full, stool not moving freely, the belly large, also rising to the chest and throat, panting with a hoarse sound — take foot shaoyin. The abdomen full, food not transforming, the belly rumbling, unable to pass stool — take foot taiyin. Heart pain pulling the waist and spine, a wish to vomit — take foot shaoyin. Heart pain and abdominal distention, tight and withheld, stool not moving freely — take foot taiyin. Heart pain pulling the back, unable to breathe — needle foot shaoyin; if it does not end, take hand shaoyang. Heart pain pulling the lower abdomen into fullness, above and below with no fixed place, stool and urine hard — needle foot jueyin. Heart pain, only short breath not enough to breathe — needle hand taiyin. Heart pain — needle at the ninth joint; press; after needling, press it, and it ends at once. If it does not end, seek above and below; find it, and it ends at once. Cheek pain — needle the pulsing vessel of foot yangming at the curved circumference until blood is seen, and it ends at once. If it does not end, press the person's welcome on the channel, and it ends at once. Qi reversing upward — needle the hollows in the breast and the pulsing vessels below the chest. Abdominal pain — needle the pulsing vessels left and right of the navel; after needling, press, and it ends at once. If it does not end, needle the qi-street; after needling, press, and it ends at once. Wilting reversal making the four extremities bound and oppressed — then swiftly release it, twice a day; those without feeling, in ten days they know; do not rest; when the illness is gone, stop. Hiccup: prick the nose with a blade of grass; a sneeze, and the sneeze ends it. Hold the breath and swiftly meet and draw it, and it ends at once. A great startle may also end it.
